Tuesday 28th May Growing very quickly and with an increased apetite. Now taking up to 5cc of rearing food(Kaytee) every three hours. Eyes are open and recognising when I handle them that it is feeding time. You can now see first pin feathers appearing on the body of the larger chick.

Thursday 30th May 2002 The chicks are really growing quickly now and are taking about 5cc of hand rearing food every 3 to 4 hours. with extra at their last feed. The feed is made progessively thicker as the birds get older so they get more food value as they get bigger from the same quantity.

20 & 18 days
Monday 3rd June Both birds are really growing quite fast. They are taking increased volume of food now with the larger chick taking up to 8cc of feed and the smaller one 6/7cc each time. They are both still on three hourly feeds but able to go from midnight till 6am with no worries.

27 & 29 days
Wednesday 11/6/02. Now at four weeks they are starting to look like birds at last and not quite like something from Jurassic Park. The larger bird is turning out to be an olive green colour. They are starting to stand up instead of their legs being splayed apart.

Tuesday 18th june and now at five weeks old we can see the proper colour of the two chicks. Their appetite is growing as fast as the birds, they are taking 20 cc's of food every five hours. Also they are starting to experiment with millet spray in their box.
